About Me/Contact
ᕼI TᕼEᖇE!
I have been in the healthcare industry since I was 13 years old (crazy but true). I was a volunteer at a hospital in Mississippi where my love for healthcare started. I became a Medical Transcriptionist at 18 which only lasted two years (out of my control). I then moved into the world of billing while working to get into nursing school only to find out that nursing was not for me.
There I was at 30 years old trying to figure out what to do with my life (career wise) so I did what most people would do, I began updating my resume. As I began to update things, it became clear that God had been preparing me since I was 13 to be a medical coder. Watching surgeries, transcribing medical reports, so many credit hours, nursing school that I dropped out of after a semester….it had led me up to this one moment in my life where I would enroll at Mississippi State University for Medical Billing and Coding.
After my course, I learned quickly that one of the biggest issues in the medical coding industry was finding employment as a new coder. I was not really having this issue due to all the background I had; however, passing the CPC was my biggest issue because of my test anxiety. I have learned a few ways around it and am always quick to help others as well as listen to advice from others. I love to learn from others and pass it along because that (in my opinion) is what this industry is all about. There is room for all of us to be successful.
The purpose of Calvio Coding, LLC is to be a resource, provide direction, education, and provide the cutest merch for all medical coders and billers. My mission is to show others that test anxiety can be defeated and that you can be successful in medical coding. It's all about being prepared, having a game plan, and someone to cheer you on along the way. Just as one of my favorite authors, Glennon Doyle would say, "We can do hard things!"
I'm so happy you're here and congratulations on this new chapter in your life; you're going to do great things!
Love,

Calvio Coding also offers full revenue cycle services. This means that we love to hire newly certified coders so that they may have the chance to utilize their new coding skills. If you are interested, send your resume to the email listed above and put 'Apprentice Coder' in the subject line.
